Literally Lorne Street – Auckland Writers Festival Event

You’ll find me there on 17 May from 6 pm . . . I’ll be reading a new piece, 500 words in 4 minutes as part of the festival. Our brief is to respond to a painting that will be on exhibit in the Gow-Langsford Gallery. A poet and a non-fiction writer will read as well. A fun Friday night.

NZ Booklovers Review

Grandzilla’s reviewed on NZ Booklovers: Reviewer Karen McMillan says: “The action in this book moves between Berlin in the turbulent 60s and contemporary America. Grandzilla a superb, engaging read, with wonderfully drawn characters, and a great sense of place and time. The tension comes from a mix of the past and present, all culminating with a well-crafted ending. This book is definitely recommended, a story of ‘growing up, growing old and getting woke’.”

Grandzilla made the 2019 NZ Booklovers list for best adult fiction

Grandzilla is a novel with multiple layers, plots and countries that come together to make this compelling reading. The author pulls off a clever mix of past and present, linking riots in 1960s Germany with present-day racial unrest in the USA. Grandzilla educates as well as entertains. Great characters and an enlightening read.’
